Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS), ( మల్టీ మోడల్ ట్రాన్స్పోర్ట్ సిస్టమ్ is a suburban rail system in Hyderabad, India. It is a joint partnership of Government of Telangana and the South Central Railway, and is operated by the latter.

Phase I
The first phase was completed at a cost of ₹1.78 billion (US$26 million) and started its operations on 9 August 2003 by then Deputy Prime Minister, L. K. Advani & united Andhra Pradesh CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The Chief Minister said the inauguration of the MMTS was the realisation of dream of having a mass transit system in Hyderabad. This prestigious project would complement the fast growth of the city in the areas of information technology, biotechnology, health, aviation and tourism. Andhra Pradesh was rated as the best destination in IT-enabled services and business process outsourcing.
It spans a distance of 43 km, covering 27 stations and connects Secunderabad, Nampally, Dabirpura, Malakpet, Falaknuma, Hitech city and Lingampally along few other routes like Bolaram (up to Manoharabad) and Umdanagar.

Train fares updated on 15 Dec 2012
- First Class Fare is approximately 12 times of General Fare per single journey.
Within 1 month, South Central railway announced a fare hike of Re.1 on each ticket and 2 paisa per KM, effective 21 January, 2013.

Milestones
On International Women's Day 2012, S Satyavati became the first woman loco pilot of South Central Railway when she independently drove an MMTS train. She piloted 'Matrubhumi Ladies Special Train' from Falaknuma to Lingampally suburban stations.[2]
