Miss World 1982, the 32nd edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 18 November 1982 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK. The winner was Mariasela Álvarez from the Dominican Republic. She was crowned by Miss World 1981, Pilín León of Venezuela. The first and second runners-up were Sari Kaarina Aspholm from Finland and Della Dolan from the United Kingdom who were semi-finalists in Miss Universe 1982 four months before.

Other notes
- Cayman Islands and Switzerland won the same awards in the Miss Universe 1982 and 1983 pageants.
- This is the first time that Bolivia and the Cayman Islands made it into the semi-finals.
- Cally Kwong Mei-Wan of Hong Kong would later have a successful career as a singer in her native country.
- 9 out of 15 countries which made it into the semi-finals, were not in the semi-finals the previous year: Dominican Republic and Philippines (1973), Yugoslavia (1975), Denmark (1977), Switzerland and Finland (1978), and Guam (1980). Bolivia and Cayman Islands had made into the semi-finals for the first time. Bolivia marked its debut in 1960, while the Cayman Islands in 1977.
