Woking High School (formerly named Horsell High School) is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in the Horsell area of Woking, Surrey, England, UK.

The school has held specialist Technology College status since 2004, and converted to become an academy in 2013. It has around 1200 pupils on roll. The school attracts pupils from many primary schools often from different areas. The forms are named after the nearby private road 'Ridgeway', the forms in each year group each take a letter from the name. The school offers a number of enrichment activities and schemes. Many pupils from Woking High School go on to Woking College after completing their GCSEs.

Woking High School has attained many prestigious awards including the British Council 'International School' award, 'Healthy Schools' award, 'Investors in People' Gold award, 'Sainsbury's School Games Mark', 'Sportsmark Gold', 'Artsmark Gold', 'ICT Mark', 'Investors in Careers' award, 'Working in Partnership with Parents' award, 'Financial Management Standards in Schools (FMSiS)' award, 'Eco-Schools Silver Award' and 'Investing in Community Engagement (ICE)' award, as well as the 'Technology Specialist School' status.

House System

The House System is a central part of life at the school. Every student as well as every member of staff is allocated to one of the four houses. The exceptions to this are the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), House System Co-ordinator and Learning Co-Ordinators (Head of Years) to ensure impartiality. The houses are: Brunel (tangerine), Curie (purple), Faraday (turquoise) and Stephenson (lime green). There are two forms from every year group in each house. Forms R and E are in Brunel (named after Isambard Kingdom Brunel), I and W are in Curie (named after Marie Curie), D and A are in Faraday (named after Michael Faraday) and G and Y are in Stephenson (named after George Stephenson).

Notable Alumni

English footballer Robert Green who currently plays for Queens Park Rangers as a goalkeeper and has previously played for West Ham and Norwich City, attended Woking High School. He has also represented England at England U16, England U18, England B level and for the full England squad. He represented the full England squad in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2012.

English musician, singer-songwriter, television presenter and actor Matt Willis, who found fame as a founding member of pop rock band Busted from 2001 until their split in 2005, attended Woking High School. Willis formed the band as well as co-writing almost all of their songs. He was the winner of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2006 and later went on to co-present the spin-off show Get Me Out of Here! NOW!. Willis currently plays Garth Stubbs in the ITV sitcom Birds of a Feather and played Luke Riley in the BBC One soap opera EastEnders. He married television presenter and former model Emma Griffiths in 2008. Emma has presented various programmes for ITV including This Morning and Loose Women. She currently presents shows including Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5 and co-presents the BBC One talent show series The Voice UK.
