Walim [ˈvalim] (German: Wüstewaltersdorf) is a village in Wałbrzych County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.[1] It is the seat of the administrative district (gmina) called Gmina Walim. It lies approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) south-east of Wałbrzych, and 64 kilometres (40 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles.
