Lua error in Module:Infobox at line 314: malformed pattern (missing ']'). WFRL 1570 AM is a radio station licensed to Freeport, Illinois. WFRL airs a 1960's and 70's Oldies format and is owned by Big Radio. The station also features local and Westwood One news, plus farm and local high school sports programming. Special weekend programs include The Charlie Tuna 70's show (Saturday 6am to Noon), American Top 40-The 70's (Saturday Noon to 3pm), and Dick Clark's Rock, Roll & Remember (Sunday 6am to 10am). WFRL operates 24 hours a day, but at one time was licensed as a daytime only station.

History

WFRL began broadcasting October 28, 1947, on 1570 kHz with 1 KW power (daytime only). The station was licensed to Freeport Broadcasting Company, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Vincent S. Barker; Sold to Triad Radio in 1959; Bradford-Ross Associates in 1977; Illinois Broadcasting in 1981 and several others.[1]
