Vindicated Inc is an American graphic novel created, written and drawn by Code Word: Geronimo and Iron Sky comic artist Gerry Kissell, and published in late 2017 after a 3-year development process. The story depicts military-style or civil insurrection combat brought home to the USA, with extensive urban fighting in Seattle. The lead character must fight dangerous criminals while burdened with multiple combat injuries, including prosthetic legs.[1]
Contributors Ernesto Haibi, Robert Scott McCall, and Shane Moore are also military veterans.[2]
Publication history
Creator/lead writer Gerry Kissell was inspired to create the story from his interest in military veterans' issues, including PTSD and other disabilities, as well as the changed perception they have of mainstream society. A six book story arc was written out, planned to be published as three 100-page graphic novels. An offshoot comic is planned to be set in the United Kingdom.[3]
