The Vieillot's black weaver (Ploceus nigerrimus) is a species of bird in the Ploceidae family. It is found in Angola, Benin, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, and Uganda. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests.

This bird is named after the French ornithologist Louis Jean Pierre Vieillot.[2]
