Étienne-Marie-Victor, vicomte de Bonald (19 May 1780 – 2 March 1871) was a French writer, lawyer (specializing in public law) and political journalist.
Biography
Victor de Bonald was born in Millau, Aveyron, the son of Louis Gabriel Ambroise de Bonald. He followed his father in his exile. He was rector of the Academy of Montpellier after the Bourbon Restoration, but lost his post during the Hundred Days. Regaining it at the Second Restoration, he resigned finally in 1830 rather than take an oath to Louis Philippe.[1] Later he wrote a life of his father.[2]
Victor de Bonald died on March 2, 1871 in the town of Rodez, at the age of 90.
