Vassy Karagiorgos simply known for her stage name VASSY is an Australian singer, songwriter and producer.[2] VASSY, whose parents are both from Greece,[3] was discovered by Australian Radio Station Triple J after she won song of the year.[4][5] Her single "We Are Young" reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Dance Charts making her the first Australian Artist to go No. 1 with her solo single debut release.[6]

VASSY is a certified RIAA Platinum and Gold[7] recording artist. Conquering the DJ world with her authentic sound has lead to a #1 Hit with David Guetta & Showtek on their track "BAD," which is certified 7 times double platinum, as well as winning a 2015 IDMA Award for Best Featured Vocalist Performance.[8] "BAD" has had over 558 million views on YouTube,[9] downloaded 2 million times and streamed via Spotify over 200 million times.[10]

Her latest collaboration is with Tiësto & KSHMR on their track, "Secrets," hit over 100 million Spotify plays[11] and 112 million YouTube views.[12] "Secrets" went straight to number #1 in 20 countries and reigned atop the Billboard Club Charts and Beatport charts and also won a 2016 IDMA Award for Best Electro/Progressive House Track.[13]

In popular culture

Her song was featured in Tina Fey film, Admission and in the recent "Gok Loves" campaign for Target Australia.[14]
