Ace is the eighteenth studio album by German band Scooter released on 5 February 2016 through Sheffield Tunes & Kontor Records, preceded by the first single "Riot" on 4 September 2015, second single "Oi" was released on 5 February 2016, and the third single "Mary Got No Lamb" which was released on 6 May 2016.[6]

Background

On the front cover of the album, it depicts a woman's hand as holds 3 cards of aces where photos of the band members are taken. On the back cover of the album's playlist graphically sophisticated, because each name is written in a different type and size and overall titles between them are randomly mixed.

The album is a cross-section of classic creation Scooter (Ace, Riot, The Birdwatcher, Torch) and modern dance styles (Encore, What You're Waiting for, Stargazer). The album among other Australian singer Vassy and Michael Maidwell, singer reggae group Orange Grove. Visiting male vocalists are not usual for the band. In more songs used sound guitars (electric, bass and acoustic), which is not common in the group.

In addition to the basic edition of the album was still released a limited version, which also includes a deck of cards (thematically the album cover) and a bracelet. The entire album is also in Digipak , compared to a plastic container in the basic edition.

  • "Mary Got No Lamb" contains lyrics from the 1976's song "Arms of Mary" by Sutherland Brothers and Quiver.
  • "The Birdwatcher" is based on the melody of "The Second Waltz" ("Russian Waltz") by Dmitri Shostakovich and samples main melody from the track "Airport" by Photographer.
  • "Torch" is Scooter's version of the 1982's the same name song by Soft Cell.
  • Czech and Slovak release of the album by Universal Music has special design with the titles "Scooter" and "Ace" written in pink letters on both digipak and booklet.
