United Presbyterian Church of Pakistan
United Presbyterian Church of Pakistan (formerly known as the Siloam Biblical Christian Church of Pakistan) is a Protestant church located in Karachi, Pakistan. As part of the Society of Biblical Christian Churches of Pakistan, the United Presbyterian Church of Pakistan shares Faith Theological Seminary with the Anglican Orthodox Church.[1] Established in 1964 on a plot donated by members of the Essa Negri Plain Church, it has a long history in the establishment of Gujradwara Council and the Synod of the United Presbyterian Church in Pakistan.[2] It belongs to the World Reformed Fellowship.[3]
Policy & Statistics
Membership is estimated at approximately 10,000. Including 25 pastors, 10 evangelists, 30 elders, 20 church buildings and 20 parsonages. The session is the basic unit with teaching elders, ruling elders and deacons. The presbytery is a higher body. Activities of the church include evangelism, education, agriculture, jail, community development and theological education.[4] The head office is located in Karachi.[5]
