The Night Comes for Us is an upcoming graphic novel written by Timo Tjahjanto, based on the unproduced screenplay of the same name.[1] In December 2014, Tjahjanto confirmed he was working with Indonesian artist hub Glitch Network to adapt his original screenplay into comic form.[2]
Synopsis
Ito, a gangland enforcer, returns to his local crime family in Jakarta after a stint with the notorious South East Asian Triad and finds himself trapped in a world of betrayal and chaos as the Triad initiates a bloody campaign of territorial expansion.[3]
Film version
The story was originally conceived as an Indonesian action thriller film written and to be directed by Timo Tjahjanto, and starring Joe Taslim, Yayan Ruhian, Julie Estelle, Arifin Putra, Prisia Nasution, Oka Antara, Rio Dewanto, Epy Kusnandar, and Kelly Tandiono.[4] Radius-TWC had announced North American distribution rights.[5][6]
In September 2014, pre-production on the film was halted,[7] and three months later Tjahjanto confirmed he was adapting the script into a graphic novel.[citation needed]
