Sunset Records

Sunset Records was a record label started in 1966 as the budget album subsidiary of Liberty Records to reissue the Liberty, Imperial, and Minit material.
The label stopped operating around 1974.
At the time Rod McKuen's LP In The Beginning (SUS-5273) was produced, Sunset Records was located at 6920 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, Calif. 90028. Based on logo information on the back of this LP cover, Sunset Records was associated with Transamerica, "Sunset Records - Entertainment from Transamerica Corporation." This meant that when Sunset was under Transamerica ownership, it was a subsidiary label of United Artists Records, the label owned by the United Artists film studio, which was part of Transamerica at that time.
