Simsboro High School is in Simsboro, Louisiana, and is a part of the Lincoln Parish School Board
History
Simsboro High School was founded in 1855 by James M. Sims. The school became recognized by the state in 1904 and saw the addition of a junior high wing in 2006.[1] The principal is Mrs. Earlene Jackson.
Student life
Simsboro High School educates children in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12.[2] Simsboro fields teams in baseball, boys & girls basketball, softball, and track & field. Students can also participate in cheerleading, student government, or clubs and activities such as 4-H.
The senior class of 2008 announced the creation of a newspaper titled TIGER TIMES.[citation needed].
Notable alumni
- Ragan Madden, member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1940 to 1949; district attorney for Lincoln and Union parishes from 1949 to 1979
- L.D. "Buddy" Napper, state representative for Lincoln Parish from 1952 to 1964[3]
- Bob Reese, Louisiana Republican political activist from Jonesboro and Natchitoches

- Tommy Joe Eagles, basketball coach prior to taking head coaching position at Louisiana Tech University
