Seemanchal is a region of northeastern Bihar in India with around 10.8 million (as of 2011) population in area just around 11,000 km 2.[1][2] The area constitutes mainly four districts - Araria, Purnea, Kishanganj, Katihar which altogether ranks as India's one of the most backward region with high political chaos.[3] The region is generally cited as one of the biggest region of Hindu-Islamic civilisation as the population has the population of both the religions in good proportion.

Religious organisations

Many religious conferences are organised in the region which include the islamic Ijtemas namely Dagarua Ijtema and Araria Ijtema and many Hindu conferences peacefully.
