The Maggot is the tenth album by American musical group Melvins, which was released in 1999 through Ipecac Recordings. This album is part of a trilogy: The Maggot, The Bootlicker and The Crybaby. The Trilogy was released on vinyl by Ipecac Recordings (The Trilogy Vinyl, IPC-011, November 27, 2000).
On the CD version all songs are split to two tracks and there is a spooky sample of the song "Toy" (the first song on The Bootlicker) after "see how pretty, see how smart" followed by silence.
On the 2006 reissue of this album, the flower from The Bootlicker is featured on its cover and vice versa.
