Quercus rugosa (the netleaf oak) is a species of oak tree which is widespread in Mexico (from Sonora to Chiapas), Guatemala, and the southwestern United States (Arizona, New Mexico, western Texas).[2][3][4][5][6]

Quercus rugosa is an evergreen shrub or tree. Bark is brown and scaly. Leaves are thick and leathery, rarely flat, usually cupped, up to 10 cm (4 inches) long, dark green on the top but covered with a thick of reddish=brown hairs on the underside.[7][8]
