The damage on the Louisiana Superdome's roof can easily be seen after it was hit by Hurricane Katrina. Before and during the storm, the Superdome (now called the Mercedes-Benz Superdome) served as a shelter. Things inside the Superdome, however, weren't as good with vandalism, drug dealing, gang activity, lack of supplies, and even three deaths.

A plaque in memory for those who passed away in the 2004 Madrid train bombings. The attack killed 192 civilians, the latest being a woman who passed in 2014 after being in a coma for nearly a decade. In English, the sign reads: In memory of the victims of the attacks of March 11, 2004, who were transported to the field hospital established here in the Municipal Sports Centre of Daoiz y Velarde. As a token of sympathy from Madrid's citizens, and of gratitude for the courage and generosity of all the services and people who came to their aid.

Zoran Đinđić was the 6th Prime Minister of Serbia. He served as prime minister from 25 January 2001 to when he was assassinated 12 March 2003. At 12:23 Central European Time on 23 March 2003, he was fatally shot by Zvezdan Jovanović while waiting for the Swedish foreign minister, Anna Lindh. He was almost instantly killed by the bullet, dying only two minutes later at 12:25.

Air France Flight 447 was a flight that departed from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 31 May 2009, headed for Charles de Gaulle Airport, in Paris, France. However, a technical malfunction with the Airbus A330-203 caused the plane to enter an aerodynamic stall, crashing into the Atlantic Ocean on 1 June 2009. Seen here, the vertical stabilizer of the plane is recovered on 14 June 2009.
