Patrick D'Rozario

Patrick D'Rozario (born 1 October 1943, Padrishibpur, Barisal,[1] British India, now Bangladesh) is the Catholic Archbishop of the archdiocese of Dhaka,[1] making him the highest ranked priest of the Roman Catholic Church in Bangladesh.[2]
He is a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross and was ordained priest in 1972. In 1990 D'Rozario became Bishop of Rajshahi, in 1995 Bishop of Chittagong.[1]
In November 2010 he was appointed Coadjutor Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Dhaka by Pope Benedict XVI.[3] In October 2011 he succeeded Archbishop Paulinus Costa as Archbishop of Dhaka.[1] He is President of Catholic Bishops' Conference of Bangladesh. The Catholic Bishops' Conference of Bangladesh, founded in 1971, is the General Body of the Bishops of Bangladesh. The purpose of this Conference is to facilitate common policy and action in matters that affect or are liable to affect the interest of the Catholic Church in Bangladesh and to be of service to the country at large. Currently he has been attending in a synod in Rome on the family.
