Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig (Filipino: "The World is On My Shoulders") is originally a movie released back in 1987, and remade as a Philippine drama that aired on GMA Network (September 10, 2007 to January 11, 2008) as the fourth installment of Sine Novela.
For the TV remake, GMA negotiated with Viva films that they would keep the elements of the old movie but use the comic elements of Pablo Gomez to make the story more fitting for its TV remake.

Plot
Lupe Velez (Yasmien Kurdi) is born into poverty but dreams of a better life. She cares for her crippled mother (Gina Alajar) who is also her harshest critic. Poor, crippled persons normally engender feelings of pity, but Lupe's mother adds to the burden and is the metaphor that represents the title of the movie (Lupe carries her mother as she begs for alms). Lupe tries to make her mother see that there is still hope in life if she would just have the strength to believe in her own daughter. Lupe's childhood friend, Carding (JC De Vera), on the other hand, supports her in all of her ambitions and dreams.

Production notes
- This is another series for the JC-Yasmien loveteam, one of which was Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso.
- It was rumored that lead roles were initially set up for Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras but Jennylyn was replaced due to health reasons. GMA 7 later released a statement saying that, on the contrary, they never promised this soap to Jennylyn and that Yasmien was the first choice.
- Pablo S. Gomez wrote two serials related to this television series: Gilda in the 1950s and Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig, which was directed by Lino Brocka in 1987. Both used the same "formula".
