The Northern Marmara Motorway is a planned motorway around the northern sections of Istanbul and which is currently (2016) partly under construction.

The highway will cross the Bosphorus Strait via the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, which is also currently under construction with completion expected in 2016. The route will serve as the outermost beltway of Istanbul as well as being the third motor-crossing of the Bosphorus. The route will stretch 431 km (268 mi) from Kınalı, on the European side, to Akyazı on the Asian side. Connections to the O-4 as well as both the Bosphorus and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges will be built as the Northern Marmara Motorway will bypass Istanbul to the north.

The section currently (2016) under construction is the section from Odayeri to Paşaköy. In this section is included the construction of 14 tunnels, 61 viaducts, 45 underpasses and 63 overpasses.

The western (Kınalı-Odayeri) and eastern (Kurtköy-Akyazı) sections have been tendered in early May 2016. Construction is estimated to take 3 years and to start in 2016.
