Mixpanel is a business analytics service and company. It tracks user interactions with web and mobile applications and offers tools for targeted communication with them. Its toolset contains in-app A/B tests and user survey forms.[1] Collected data is used to build custom reports and measure user engagement and retention.[2] Mixpanel works with web applications, in particular SaaS, but also supports mobile apps.[3][4] As of April 2013, Mixpanel claimed to track 48 billion actions per month for its customers.[5]
Mixpanel was founded by Suhail Doshi and Tim Trefren in 2009 and is based in San Francisco, California.[6] It is backed by Y Combinator, and its list of investors includes Andreessen Horowitz,[7] Max Levchin and Keith Rabois.[8]
Mixpanel clients include Industry Dive, AirBnb, Miniclip, Path, Docusign, Venmo, WordPress, Rosetta Stone, Demand Media, Match.com, Kickstarter, Quora and Jawbone.[9][10]
