Michelle K. Ryan is a professor of social and organisational psychology at the University of Exeter. She earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Australian National University in 2004. She researches gender and gender differences.[1] Together with Alex Haslam, she coined the term glass cliff to describe how the experiences of women who have broken through the glass ceiling differ from those of their male counterparts.[2][3][4] Her most recent[when?] research examines the role of identity in understanding work-life balance and suggests that work-life balance is as much about balancing identity as it is about balancing time.
