Matt Rainnie
Matt Rainnie is the host and producer of CBC Radio One's Mainstreet, the afternoon show on CBCT-FM in Prince Edward Island.[1]
After graduating with a journalism degree from the University of King's College in 1993, Rainnie started as a television reporter and videojournalist before moving to radio.[2]
As an actor, Rainnie has been featured on CBC Radio's Basic Black and Madly Off in All Directions, and also on CBC Television's On the Road Again and Emily of New Moon.[2]
Rainnie hosted a national radio show in the summer of 2005 called "Lost and Found." That show returned in the summer of 2006.[2]
He has also guest hosted CBC Radio's Sounds Like Canada.
In April/May 2008 he hosted an Atlantic Canadian TV show called Short Film Face Off, where regional filmmakers compete for a CBC production deal.[3]
Rainnie was also in the first year of the sketch comedy show Sketch-22, and was a former cast member of Annekenstein and 4-Play.[2]
He lives in Charlottetown with his wife and three children.[2]
