Born in Doncaster, West Riding of Yorkshire,[citation needed] Lady Parkinson's career has been on a lower profile than her husband's, though she presented the 1970s magazine programme Good Afternoon, produced by Thames Television. Amongst other TV work, she has also frequently appeared as a panelist on Through the Keyhole.
