Macaw is a commercial WYSIWYG editor used for web development created by Macaw, LLC. It bears some resemblance to the tools commonly used in programs such as Photoshop. Its public 1.0 release was made available on March 31, 2014 for Windows and Mac OS.[1]
Macaw uses an engine called Alchemy that allows it to logically create clean and responsive HTML, CSS, and Javascript. This tool also allows for the creation of fluid layouts, responsive breakpoints, rich typography, and interactivity.[2]
As a consequence of the acquisition of Macaw, LLC by InVision in January 2016, Macaw is no longer under active development.[3]
