Ludicra was a metal band from San Francisco.[1] They originally formed in 1998 as a quartet and later expanded to five members. On July 26, 2011, the band announced on their official website that they had disbanded.[2]

Ludicra's sound has been described as black metal[1] and avant-garde metal.[3][4] Influences include bands such as Darkthrone, Gorgoroth, Dødheimsgard, and Bethlehem,[1] and genres like thrash metal, doom metal, punk, and folk.[5]

The group included current and former members of other San Francisco-based bands, including Impaled, Hammers of Misfortune,[1] Tallow, Missile Command, Ominum, and punk band Hickey. They shared the stage with the death metal band Impaled,[1] the post-hardcore/noise rock outfit Total Shutdown,[1] the instrumental math metal band the Fucking Champs,[1] and the black metal band Krallice.
