Louis de Robiano
Louis François Marie Joseph de Robiano, comte de Robiano de Borsbeek (10 March 1781 – 24 May 1855) was a Belgian politician and historian.

Biography
He was born in Brussels, the son of Jean-Joseph de Robiano (1773–1833) and Jeanne de Limpens (1751–1837). He obtained noble recognition and was appointed to the Knighthood of Antwerp with the title of count by Royal Order of 13 March 1816/N° 62, but he refused to take the required oath and the appointment was revoked by Royal Order of 4 July 1816/N° 37. In 1840, noble recognition was then granted under the Belgian Kingdom, with the title of count for all descendants.
He was the brother of François de Robiano and of Eugène de Robiano. He was the uncle of Ludovic and Maurice de Robiano. He was the brother-in-law of Joseph de Man d'Hobruge.
He married Countess Amélie de Stolberg-Stolberg (1807–1880) in 1826 in Münster (Westphalia). They had two sons who became priests: Frederic (1827–1862) became a Jesuit and Alfred (1829–1902) became a Dominican, a daughter who became a Carmelite and a daughter who married Count Franz de Stolberg-Wernigerode. This family branch died out, as did that of his brother François.
He served in the Chamber of Representatives in 1832 and 1833 for the Arrondissement of Ypres.
Louis de Robiano was director of the Catholic Library of Belgium, which published books and brochures of a Catholic signature from 1821. He himself provided several reprints, with changes or additions made by him. He also published many philosophical or historical works of his own, often with publishers in Paris.
Louis de Robiano died in Turin at the of 74.
