A legal transaction (Latin: negotium juridicum; German: Rechtsgeschäft; French: acte juridique), also known as legal act, act-in-the-law, an important concept in civil law, is "the means by which legal subjects can change the legal positions of themselves or other persons intentionally" (Hage 2013, p. 103).[1]
