Leander is a secondary school in Leander, Texas and part of the Leander Independent School District. It was established in 1899.

The school has a freshmen enrollment of 600 students and is accredited by the Texas Education Agency. Historically the school served a mainly rural population, but starting around the early 1990s the area experienced explosive growth due to expansion of high tech industries in the nearby Austin area[citation needed]. In 1999, the school became an International Baccalaureate school. As of 2014, the school principal is Mrs. Tiffany Spicer.

The school's mascots are Leo the Lion and Leah the Lioness. The school colors are blue, white, and red. Originally, the school's colors were simply blue and red, but this posed issues with home/visiting football games, where the opposing team would wear red as well as Leander. Because of this, Leander switched to simply blue and white. The red was reintroduced in the late '90s as an accent color.

Leander High is also recognized for its yearly integrated Fine Arts productions showcasing the talents of its students from the Band, Choir, and Theater Department in addition to the renowned Leander local dance teams, The Blue Belles, and the Leander Junior Varsity Dance Team, The Sapphires. The Robotics Team is known in the area for competing multiple times a year as well.

As of the end of the spring semester of 2014, NHS students produced 1736 hours worth of service toward both local and global communities. In 2014, the hour requirement was set to 10 hours for veteran inductees, and 8 for new inductees during their first semester in NHS. In 2012, membership required a GPA of 4.0. This rose to 4.3 in 2013 and is expected to rise to 4.5 by the fall semester of 2014.
