The Kentucky Department of Corrections is a state agency of Kentucky that operates prisons. The agency is headquartered in the Health Services Building in Frankfort.[1]
As of June 2013, Kentucky ended its relationship with all private prison contractors, although the Lee Adjustment Center operated by Corrections Corporation of America still houses out-of-state prisoners.[2]
Facilities
Death row
The Kentucky State Penitentiary (KSP) houses the male death row.[6] The Kentucky Correctional Institute for Women houses the female death row. Executions occur at KSP.[7]
