Kamareddy is a business centre in Nizamabad district in the Indian state of Telangana.

Geography

Kamareddy is located at Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found..[2] It covers an area of 14.11 km2.[3] It is 110 km from the state capital of Hyderabad and 55 km from district headquarters, Nizamabad. However, Kamareddy comes under the Zahirabad parliamentary constituency. The population of the town is 80,378 as per 2011 census.

As of 2001 India census,[4] Kamareddy had a population of 64,496. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Kamareddy has an average literacy rate of higher than 65%, male literacy is greater than 74%, and female literacy is more than 56%. In Kamareddy, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Economics

Kamareddy produces paddy, sugar, jaggery, different vegetables, maze and turmeric. There are around 300 textile business centers. Telangana biggest poulty forms are in kamareddy rural and urban areas. One of the major agriculture market yard located in Kamareddy.

Transportation

Kamareddy has two bus stands, and a railway station with connectivity to most major stations in Telangana, Andhra pradesh and Maharashtra. The railway line has converted to broad gauge under Project Unigauge. Kamareddy connected with Major road lines like NH44 (old NH7) which is the longest road line in India. Kamareddy is the major center for the surrounding towns and villages.
