KUNR (88.7 FM) is the flagship National Public Radio station in Reno, Nevada. Owned by the University of Nevada, Reno, it is a typical full-service public radio outlet airing classical music, jazz, and NPR news and talk.
KUNR signed on in October 1963. It did not join NPR until 1981. In addition to airing NPR programming such as Morning Edition, Fresh Air with Terry Gross, All Things Considered, and Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!, the station also airs PRI programs such as Mountain Stage and This American Life, as well as American Public Media's A Prairie Home Companion, and Car Talk reruns, as well as TED Radio. It also serves as Carson City's NPR news affiliate, and thus is the exclusive Nevada home of Diane Rehm's talk show.
Translators
