The Job Creators Network (JCN) is a national business advocacy organization founded by Home Depot co-founder and former CEO Bernie Marcus.[1] A nonprofit, JCN is composed of some of America's most experienced business leaders, advocating for nonpartisan free-market solutions to economic problems of the day. The organization prides itself as "the voice of real job creators."[2]

Alfredo Ortiz, a former Pepsi and Kraft executive, was named president and CEO of JCN in January 2014.[3]

Mission

Through its Employer to Employee (E2E) education program and other forms of public outreach—including blog posts and online videos—JCN is focused on providing individuals with basic public policy education.[4][5] The organization advocates for lower taxes and fewer government regulations. For example, it is opposed to many mandates of the Affordable Care Act, mandated wage increases, and the regulatory activities of the National Labor Relations Board and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. However, JCN does not endorse candidates for office, political parties, or other partisan groups in the political system.

JCN launched a "Bring Small Businesses Back" (BSBB) campaign defending free enterprise in 2016. The campaign highlights the problems of overtaxation, overregulation, and lack of access to capital.[6][7] In April 2016, JCN hosted a BSBB event in Orlando featuring Frank Luntz, Mike Gallagher, and a panel of small business owners.[8][9]

In January 2015, it created the National Women's Coalition (NWC) "aimed at broadening the organization's mission and giving added voice to women business leaders" around the country. NWC is chaired by Heidi Ganahl, founder and CEO of Camp Bow Wow. Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, serves as honorary chair.[10]

Membership

JCN was founded by Bernie Marcus, the co-founder and former CEO of Home Depot, to bring together some of America's most experienced business leaders and CEOs.[11] The organization's president is Alfredo Ortiz, a former Pepsi and Kraft executive.[12] Its members include:
