Hans Tröger (29 August 1896 – 21 January 1982) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II who commanded several panzer divisions. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Hans Tröger was captured by Bulgarian troops in 1944, he was later handed over to the Soviet Union and held until 1955.
