Playing career
Adewole began his career at the Arsenal Academy, before moving to the United States of America. He played college soccer at University of Rio Grande, and later Drake University[2] respectively. He later played in the USL Premier Development League successive seasons for Springfield Demize[3] and then Des Moines Menace.[4]
Professional
In 2012, after an unsuccessful trial at Swedish club Bodens BK,[5] Adewole signed for Norwegian club Hammerfest FK on the back of a successful trial.[6] Other clubs in Sweden and Malta also reportedly approached the youngster for his services, but both deals fell apart because of sundry reasons.
At the end of a successful lone season with the Scandinavian club, Romanian football giants FC Dinamo București inquired about Adewole's services,[7] but he later agreed to join Liga II club side ACS Berceni till the end of the season. His next venture was to Italy where he spent the beginning of 2013–14 season with FC Pomarico, but left on grounds of mutual consent due to the poor financial situation of the club.
Sheikh Russel KC
The subsequent winter transfer window saw Adewole miss out on a deal to join Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 club Olympique de Béja,[8] however, he shortly signed a contract to play for Bangladesh Premier League club Sheikh Russell[9][10] on a free transfer, after much speculations he was set to either play for Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily SC or Lithuanian 1 Lyga club Tauras.[11]
El Raja Marsa Matruh
Adewole signed a two-year contract with Egyptian Premier League side El Raja SC in the summer of 2014, after they reportedly made him the highest paid player at the club, with a €315k buy-out clause.[12]
Nikos & Sokratis Erimis
On 1 September 2014, after only months with his new club El Raja SC, Adewole joined Cypriot outfit Nikos & Sokratis Erimis on transfer deadline day, penning a one-year contract.[13]
Personal life
Adewole is currently eligible for international selection by either the USMNT, England, or his country of origin Nigeria. In addition to his football career, Adewole also holds a Masters of Laws (LLM) degree in Sports Law from Nottingham Law School.
