Elisabet Avramidou Granlund, known professionally as Elli Avram (born 29 July 1990)[2][3] is a Swedish Greek actress[4] and is now based in Mumbai, India. She appeared in the Hindi film Mickey Virus[5] and participated in the Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss.[6]

Early life

Elli Avram was born in Stockholm, Sweden to Jannis Avramidis, a Greek musician and Maria Granlund, an actress. She has a brother named, Konstantin Avramidis.[7]

Career

At age 17, Avram became the member of Pardesi Dance Group in Sundbyberg and gave dance performances all over Scandinavia, primarily of Bollywood songs.[8] Avram has done some acting projects in Sweden,[4] including 2008 crime drama romance movie, Förbjuden Frukt, where she played the role of Selen - the lead character's teen girlfriend. The movie was set against a backdrop of violent crime, where she falls in love with a boy with a criminal background.[9] She also appeared on the Swedish TV series Gomorron Sverige. In 2010, Avram participated in the Miss Greece beauty contest.[10]

In September 2012, Avram moved to Mumbai.[11] She signed up with a modeling agency and got a work visa. Her first considerable project was a television advertisement for Eveready Batteries.[12] Avram was featured in a television commercial for Ricchezza Silver Jewelry, produced by TryAngles Studio.

She got her first major breakthrough with a lead role in Saurabh Varma's comedy thriller film, Mickey Virus[13] although she spoke no Hindi.[4] Before her Bollywood debut, Avram had formal training in Hindi pronunciation.[14] In Mickey Virus she played the role of Kamayani George.[15] The film, shot in Delhi, was released on October 25, 2013.[13]
