Plot
Season 1 the gorgeous and versatile Drashti Dhami portrayed the female lead Rani Gayatri and she played Savitri. Rana Indravadhan the male lead was portrayed by Siddhant Karnick. During the 1940s, the royal family of Amerkot is in debt to the region's wealthiest money lender, Govind Seth. His beautiful daughter Gayatri is attracted to Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo, known as Ranaji, the King who has recently returned after fighting in World War II. Ranaji encounters Gayatri numerous times but is unaware of her actual identity. His mother Rajmata Priyamvada finalizes a deal with Govind Seth and compensates for the debt by arranging the marriage of Ranaji with Gayatri. The latter agrees because she has developed feelings for the King but is oblivious of his hatred. The story is about the journey of Gayatri from an ordinary girl with dreams that did not quite transpire how she had envisioned. However she does win the hearts of all people in Amerkot and those within the Raj Mahal.

Reception
The show began with good ratings and became one of the most watched shows across all GEC's and was one of the top ten serials of 2015. Soon after due to poor tracks the TRPs dropped and is currently scheduled to go off air. These were the rumours by people that the show will be go to off air but meeting was held and the makers of the show confirmed that the show will not be going off air. The track of both leading pair Drashti Dhami and Siddhant Karnick will be ending in serial and both decided to quit the show because a leap is taken and they are replaced by new cast.[2]
