Dolphin shorts

Dolphin shorts are a style of shorts for athletics. They are often mainly in one bright block color, but there is much color variation. They typically have a visible binding in white or a color contrasting with the main color. Like gym shorts, they often feature a cord to be tied around the waist at the front.

The name may come from the US Dolfin Swimwear company, which extended their product line into running wear.

These were popular in the 1980s, and again became popular many years later, especially in 2006/2007, particularly in the fitness and gym scene.
