Ding Shisun

Ding Shisun (Chinese: 丁石孙; pinyin: Dīng Shísūn; born September 5, 1927) is a mathematician and retired politician of the People's Republic of China. He served as President of Peking University and Chairman of the China Democratic League.[1]
Born in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, Ding graduated from the Department of Mathematics of Tsinghua University. From 1984 to 1989, Ding served as the president of Peking University. In November 1996, Ding succeeded Fei Xiaotong to become chairman of the China Democratic League. In December 2005, Ding retired from this post and became the honorary chairman of CDL.[1]
