Colin Cloud is a Scottish stage mentalist, speaker, comedian and writer who describes himself as a forensic mind reader.[1] He has been compared to both English illusionist Derren Brown and to Sherlock Holmes.[2]

Personal life
Cloud was born in Harthill, Scotland. In a 2015 interview with stv Glasgow,[3] Cloud says that he was shy and quiet at school, and that he studied forensic investigation at university. He has stated in several interviews that he became fascinated with Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes, at a young age and learned to replicate the detective's ability to read people.[4]
Colin Cloud began his career by studying a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in forensic investigation, specialising in criminal profiling, at Glasgow Caledonian University (2003-2007) [5] before abandoning that line to pursue a career in entertainment.
In various interviews and on his Twitter account, Cloud has stated that he has two cats. He also has numerous tattoos, including a 2015 addition of a Holmesian cat (with pipe) and another costumed cat.
Cloud has several other tattoos, including one of lyrics from U2's With or Without You.
Early career
Cloud joined Tree of Knowledge, one of the UK's most successful motivational companies, as a speaker in 2007. He left the company in 2013 to concentrate on developing a TV and stage career.[6]
Colin Cloud performed at the Edinburgh Festival in 2012.[7]
Career
Colin Cloud performs regularly at the Edinburgh Magic Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and at other festivals and events. His 2014 Edinburgh Comedy Festival show had 22 sold-out performances and garnered several 5 star reviews. His other show, The Colour Ham, received the inaugural Skinny Magazine Talk of the Town award.[8]
Alongside public performances, Cloud's website notes that he can be engaged for private and corporate events.
In June 2015, Cloud announced that he had joined the best-selling touring magic show, The Illusionists[9] as "The Deductionist",[10] with performances due to run from November 2015 to January 2016.
Television series
Cloud has appeared on television, under his earlier name Colin McLeod. In July 2011, he was a guest on Penn & Teller: Fool Us. He also appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2012 under that name [11]
In 2014, Cloud signed a deal with NBC's Peacock Productions' UK office to develop a Forensic Mind Reader television series.[12] In 2016, Cloud appeared as a guest on Michael McIntyre's Big Show.
