Clyde Kaplan

Clyde Kaplan is an Emmy-award winning associate director of, and sound engineer for, The Bold and the Beautiful. Previous television sound engineering credits of his include Hollywood Squares.

Having served as assistant engineer at A&M Studios from 1981 until 1986, Kaplan's sound engineering or mixing work includes Joni Mitchell's Wild Things Run Fast, Barbra Streisand's Yentl, The Carpenters' An Old Fashioned Christmas, Lost in the Stars: The Music of Kurt Weill, Vesta Williams' Vesta, Johnny Gill's Chemistry, and the "We Are The World" sessions. During this period, Kaplan also served as Engineer on The Rave-Ups' Town & Country, the recording of which was recalled on September 19, 2014 by frontman Jimmer Podrasky as a product largely due to the credit of Kaplan. In his public post, Podrasky credits Kaplan with enabling a stressful record to come into its final product. Regarding Kaplan's influence on Americana music, Podrasky wrote, "The increasingly vast landscape that is now considered "Americana" music owes a huge debt to Clyde because of his incredible work on [Town & Country]." Other sound engineering or mixing credits of Kaplan's include The Carpenters' Christmas Portrait and Stanley Turrentine's Inflation.
