Chatswood Public School is a primary and public school that was founded in 1883, located in the suburb of Chatswood in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.[1] This school provides a playground which has been changed throughout the years, an Astroturf oval and four buildings.

Languages other than English
All students undertake study in Mandarin or Korean.
Opportunity Class
Chatswood Public School also provides an OC (Opportunity Class), a class which is for gifted and talented pupils in years 5 and 6. Students must sit an internal examination, similar to an entrance exam to be accepted in the OC class. The OC exam is taken around late July or early August each year. Chatswood Public School students sit the exam in Chatswood High School's hall, other children of different schools may go to specific venues in order to take their tests.[2]
Camps
Chatswood Public School hosts 3 camps for Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. In 2011 and 2012, Year 5 went to Bathurst, Year 6 went to Canberra and Year 4 went to Yarramundi. In 2009, Year 4 went to Yarramundi, Year 5 went to Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Centre and Year 6 went to Canberra. In 2008, Year 4 went to Toukley as with previous years.
Extra-curricular activities
The School offers many extra-curricular activities in which children willingly give up their play-time in order to participate in such Clubs, as they are known. Just a few of the clubs are:

In 2008, Chatswood Public School had their first 'Chatz Fest', which is a Short Film Festival. This year entrants were from years 3-6, while in years to come, it will be extended to 3-12 along with Chatswood High School.
Music
Chatswood has a proud music program, in which children can learn various instruments as well as participate in numerous choirs. The program has been awarded the Director General's award for Music Education. The School also has several cabinets full of music trophies and awards. The Ensembles are:

Sport
Chatswood Public School is involved in many Sporting Activities, and is involved it is involved in one PSSA competition, Ku-Ring-Gai district competition. In 2007, the Chatswood Public School Senior A's Cricket and Soccer Team came first in the Ku-Ring-Gai cricket and soccer competitions. The Summer sports consists of Modball (Tee-ball), Cricket and Oztag and the Winter sports consist of Netball, Australian rules football and Soccer. The School has annual Athletics, Swimming and Cross Country Carnivals, in which students are chosen to represent the school in higher grades.
The Four Sporting Houses, all named after early Governors of Australia, are:
- Phillip (Blue) Named after Arthur Phillip
- Hunter (Yellow) Named after John Hunter
- King (Red) Named after Phillip Gidley King
- Bligh (Green) Named after William Bligh
2008's winner of the House Shield was King. [4]
