Castagneto Carducci

Castagneto Carducci is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Livorno in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 90 kilometres (56 miles) southwest of Florence and about 50 km (31 mi) southeast of Livorno. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,536 and an area of 142.6 km2 (55.1 sq mi).[2] It is named after the poet Giosuè Carducci, who spent there some years as a child.
The municipality of Castagneto Carducci contains the frazioni (subdivisions) of Donoratico, Marina di Castagneto and Bolgheri. Castagneto Carducci borders the following municipalities: Bibbona, Monteverdi Marittimo, San Vincenzo, Sassetta, Suvereto.
