Burj el-Shemali

Burj el-Shemali is a Lebanese village located 3 km east of the city of Tyre, Lebanon. The village has a Palestinian refugee camp beside it which is named Burj el-Shemali Camp.According to UNRWA, the camp has 19,074 registered refugees.[1] The camp was established temporarily in 1948 after the First Arab–Israeli War, but it is still in existence today. Humanitarian assistance has been provided by UNRWA to the camp residents since 1955.[2]
