Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. A parliament by-election was held on 7 April 2009 in the parliamentary seat of Bukit Gantang, Perak. There was a turnout of 41,626 voters and whereby there were 456 spoilt votes. PAS candidate and Menteri Besar, Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin defeated BN candidate Ismail Saffian by a majority of 2,789 votes.[1]
