Bonnie MacBird is a writer, actress, playwright, screenwriter and producer known for co-writing early drafts of the science fiction film Tron. She has a number of small acting credits in film and theatre as well.

MacBird has spent most of her career in Hollywood as a screenwriter and producer. She worked in feature film development for Universal Studios in the 1970s, won two Emmy Awards as a producer in the 1980s, and was, for ten years, the head of a firm called Creative License/SkyBird Productions. She currently writes, directs and acts in theatre and film, and teaches screenwriting at UCLA extension.[1]

MacBird is a native of San Francisco, California and graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor's degree in music and a master's degree in film.

In 1983 she married computer-scientist Alan Kay.
