BERI was established in 2003 with approval from the All India Council for Technical Education and the Department of Technical Education of the Government of Madhya Pradesh to run degree level engineering courses. BERI is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal.

Facilities
The campus spans more than 200 acres comprising lush green lawns dotted with laboratories and buildings. The lecture halls and e-classrooms are equipped with teaching aids like OHPs and LCD projectors.
