Sumithra Arachchige Don Bandula Chandrasiri Gunawardane (born 15 March 1953) (known as Bandula Gunawardane) is a Sri Lankan politician, a member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka and a government minister.

Early life

He was born in a village called Mabula, in Avisasalwella Electorate, Colombo District Sri Lanka. His primary education was at Roman Catholic School in Mabula and for secondary education he entered to Rajasinghe Central College He entered Lumbini College for his Advanced Level studies and entered to University of Sri Jayewardenepura after passing A/Ls in commerce stream

Political career summary

He was a very famous tutor in the city which he started as a hobby while he was still in the university. Through this gained so much popularity which led him to contest 1989 parliamentary election through Mahajana Eksath Peramuna. He obtained 25,000 + preferential votes and entered to the parliament. He lost in 1994 parliament elections.

Film Producer

Bandula Gunawardena entered into the cinema industry by producing Suddilage Kathaawa and won Sarasaviya Awards.
