WTA career
2015: First Slam surprise - round 4 in Paris
Not having won a single WTA title, Mitu made it to the 4th round in 2015 French Open, defeating 6-3 6-2 French wildcard Alizé Lim in 1st round, the world #12 Karolína Plíšková 2-6 7-6 6-4 in the second round, and veteran Francesca Schiavone 7-5 6-4 in the third round. She lost in the 4th round to Alison Van Uytvanck 1-6 3-6. This performance pushed Mitu to a career-high ranking of #68.
However, poor results in the following 12 months meant that she was unable to secure direct entry to the 2016 French Open and had to play the qualifying rounds, where she lost in the final round of qualifying to Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland.
